BUILDING A FOUNDATION IN THE WORD
WHERE YOU LAY YOUR FOUNDATION MATTERS
"The foundation you don't lay today, will determine your fall tomorrow"
-TBYO-
When you sight a man building, he is always making sure that his structure is firm except he's creating it for temporary use only."But whatever must stand for ever must be firm on it's foundation"
Let us therefore look at the following terms carefully;
- The Word: Definition: The Word Her connotes the Bible and it is therefore;
- Everything God spake directly to Adam and Eve, Moses, Issac, etc. (Gen 3: 9) (Gen 26: 2-5)
- Everything God spake through the Prophets. (Heb 1:1)
- The writing of the Apostles in the New Testament.
- Everything Jesus said during his time here on earth.
- Foundation: Definition: Foundation can be referred to as a base which a structure stands.
It also means the ground work which can future the stability of everything.
It means building a firm footing of this sermon.
- Word Foundation: Definition: Word Foundation is been rooted in the Word of God and establishing spiritual anchor for stability in this world. it means understanding the role played by the Word in enjoying the abundant life promise made by Jesus. with this all in mind we have come to learn that we must understand and act on the role of the Word to enjoy the promises of Jesus Christ. this simply mean putting the word first in our lives.
- We are God's building so we need a foundation to stand firm and not to fall or collapse when the strong wind blows: at your tested time, you will need the word to trust God that is why you need to be rooted in it. every physical building that must stand and endure the storm, must have a firm foundation and this principle also applies to you as a believer (2Cor 3: 16). you only need the word to make your vision clear, and just as long as you know it, all life's circumstances are just passing by and you are overcoming them by the word because it is "Out of the abundance of the Word that God speaks" and everything obeys his word.
- The Word is our Foundation: no other foundation are you expected to lay apart from what Jesus had already said it means if you know the word, know man can decieve you. (Heb 1: 3)
In Conclusion; the Word is the power that supports all things so it has all the capacity to take us up if only we submit and take responsibility to build on it.
The word is a spiritual food this means that you don't read the word, but eat it. the reason why you can't eat the word (not read) is because your stomach is too small for it so you have to exercise it to the capacity of eating the word. the time you spend on making up or going for friday nights can be used for the word "There's no point looking young and glittering when there's of prove of what you have done that is good" "It is iresponsible to think that your word is stronger than the Word of God"
