DEVELOPING GODLY CHARACTERS
DO NOT CONFORM (COPY) BE TRANSFORMED(CHANGE)
"If you can't tell a difference between an unbeliever and a believer, then something is wrong"
-TBYO-
Your life should bring glory to God and not dishonor. lets acknowledge that whatever we do is for our profiting. even Jesus Christ the son of God was able to respect this fact by laying a solid foundation for good christian character. this days, Christianity is barely a term. that was even given to us by Unbelievers as a result of the Characteristic of Christ found in the early Christians. they could see Christ in them. Jesus Christ said "If you've seen me, you've seen my Father" he was sure because he consciously did and behaved what his Father is.
"Whenever you want to do something and your peace is not there, then your motives are wrong"
As you read through this sermon you will learn to act like Christ.
2 Categories Of Believers:
- Those That Hear The Word But Don't Practice: This people are not strong in the faith. the believe today, and throw away tomorrow. they scream the most in church in reaction to the word that has touched them. some play, while some are really touched. then they scream "ride on Sir" they stand on their feet no minding the kind of face their neighbor arranges for them. the ignore everything else going on and focus on the sermon, but here is what happens after the Covenant Greetings are shared(Known as The Grace in Nigeria)? they leave they church and continue being what they have ever been.
- Those That Hear The Word, Do It and Abide By It: When these people hear the word, they correct themselves. they are the only ones who develop Godly Characters. they believe that Godly Character is a ital attribute that a believer must posses and the know very well that a believer should and must be different from the world around him.
When you are transformed as an unbeliever, you become the light that every one follows (Matthew 5: 16). but when you compromise, you become a victim of pity.
Above, you will see that the hearers and the doers are those who believe Jesus can change their life.
What Is Character?
Character can be defined as the inner or Moral qualities that forms the pattern of an individuals Behavior. Simply that; Character is the lifestyle of a person. Note:- Character can be good or bad. and if it's bad, you will need to change i. stop praying for who will love you for who you are, but if you know that who you are is not lovable, then change.
Components Of Character:
- Our Thoughts: Thoughts are the most vital parts of one's character. (Proverbs 23: 27). the way you think will form your character. you compare yourself, you feel inferior and think you are not good enough. no matter what one has, celebrate with them but stay happy with what you have.
- Imaginations: Imagination is the ability to create mental pictures in your mind. this can also influence your character. instead of using it for nothing, use it to picture your future. create it with your mind first. Imagination is seeing with the eyes of the mind (what no one else is seeing). your sight is your limitation it's not about praying. paint the right pictures in your mind (Ephesians 3: 30). your thoughts are already prayers and God works with our mind before he can answer.
- Feelings: Have a good feeling always. stay positive always and express yourself whenever you feel like. don't keep grudges and don't remain angry. cultivate agape love.
- Attitude: A man's character is shaped by his Attitude. attitude is the way you see life and is also your behavior.
In Conclusion; Character development is building upon a man's inner qualities or moral virtues. check yourself, but be honest; what are some of the things you love doing that annoys people? write it down and find the opposite of all. (Galatians 5: 22)
- Love: be a loving person, do not hate people even though they will hurt you. go ahead and love like you have never been hurt. nice guys win.
- Joy full: do not count the bad deeds of people to you.
- Gentleness: Not arrogant.
- Goodness: not Harshness
- Faith: Not Unbelief.
