DOS AND DON'T IN YOUR RELATIONS WITH GOD

WHAT YOU DO FOR GOD IS ALL FOR YOU

"Good sense makes one slow to anger, and it is his glory to overlook an offense"

-Proverbs 19:11-

The world you've found yourself in is not designed by principles alone, but also mysteries. A child of God must recognize that his father has taken note of some bad habits he/she exhibits and is not pleased with them.

We as Christians are set apart from the world. this is to say that we have been filtered as different species running with unique genes and this means there are certain things we need to avoid.

Fear: A man described fear as; False Evidence of things that Appear Real. fear should have no place in a christians life because of what we carry on the inside. 2 Timothy 1:7–8 Stated “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord…”
why shouldn't we fear? because we have where to put our hope one and it's on God who never fails. why shouldn't we fear? because we have where to put our hope one and it's on God who never fails. “This is my command — be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord, your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9).
Keeping Grudges: We have access to God's Forgiveness all at every time we do something wrong. God forgives and forgets so it's only fair when we treat others the same way he treated us.Forgive often.
“Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?” “No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times seven!” (Matthew 18:21–22)
Being Lazy: God is hard working and the children of God are little god's. so we carry the gene of our father which includes the capacity to bring imaginations to reality. giving answers to questions and solving problems that seem impossible. but not wanting to do these is an ultimate display of laziness. we already have the Holy Spirit which Empowers us to deliver so we must engage him. God's Word makes it very clear that we are instructed to work hard and put our best effort forward. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him(Colosians 3: 17)
Living In The Flesh: As Christians, we have been called to be Godly, holy, which leaves no room for worldliness. we can not be Godly and worldly at the same time. it's a risk to stand in the middle of the road. “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world — the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life — is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.” (1 John 2:15–17)
Gossiping: Stop saying other people's own. you can't change them rather pray for them to change. Ephesians 4:29 says, “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”

Psalm 101:5 adds, “Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, him I will destroy; No one who has a haughty look and an arrogant heart will I endure.”

THINGS GOD HATES:

“These six things the Lord hates, yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren” (Proverbs 6:16-19).
  1. God hates a proud look. The Bible says, “Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall” (Proverbs 16:18). It says, “those who walk in pride He is able to put down” (Daniel 4:37). And again the Bible says, “Behold, I am against you, O most haughty one!” (Jeremiah 50:31). Jesus said, “And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted” (Matthew 23:12). The entrance to the Kingdom of Heaven is gained through your coming in humility.
  2. Second, the Bible says that God hates a lying tongue. Where did we learn to lie? Isn’t it strange that children lie without being taught? The sins of fraud, embezzlement, slander, libel and breach of promise are the products of a lying heart. Jesus answerd in his time and said “You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do” (John 8:44).
  3. God hates hands that shed innocent blood. The sixth commandment says, “You shall not murder” (Exodus 20:13). Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him” (1 John 3:15). Murder can be committed in many ways. You can murder your wife, your children and your friends by the poisonous venom of hatred and bitterness.
  4. God hates a heart that devises evil imaginations. Thought is sown in the mind before it is reaped in the field of action. “Whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart,” said Jesus (Matthew 5:28). No person with an evil imagination can inherit the Kingdom of God. God hates evil imaginations. They lead to habits, habits lead to bondage, and bondage leads to death: “The wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23).
  5. God hates feet that are swift in running to mischief. Evil thoughts and imagination, if nourished and fed, will eventually lead to sinful actions. There are people in every community who openly and flagrantly violate God’s law. They boast that they are not hypocrites, and they make no pretense of being good. But this does not excuse them for their wickedness.
  6. God hates a man or woman who sows discord among brethren.“Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice,” says the Bible (Ephesians 4:31). And the Bible says, “If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless” (James 1:26).
BUT WHAT CAN YOU DO?

You Must Receive Christ: "To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory." (Colossians 1: 27) Christ in us empowers us to do things that bring glory to God alone,

However, this matter of salvation and glory to God is not thrust upon you; it is a gift, and it must be duly and properly received. Here is the promise on which you may put your whole trust: “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name” (John 1:12).

At this moment you can receive Christ. He will forgive every sin that you have ever committed and give you new strength, new power over the temptations of life. But first you must renounce your sins, confess them and receive Christ into your heart. Will you do that right now? You can at this moment, and He will change your life
